I have been a Downey resident for 33 years and I care deeply about the
community.  I grew up in neighborhing South Gate and came to Downey 33
years ago where I have lived all but one of those 33 years.  Downey is where
my heart belongs and that is why I came back.

I have always believed in giving back to my community and have
memberships in Downey Rotary International, Friends of the Downey Library,
the Downey Rose Float Association and the Downey Chamber of Commerce.
Currently I am the President of the Downey Rose Float Association and have
donated countless hours to many local groups.  I served on the Downey
Christmas Parade Committee and worked to raise funds for Downey Regional
Hospital, Downey PTA, ARC, Sister Cities, Downey Soroptimist, Women's
Club of Downey, Relay for Life, Downey Rotary, both Downey and Warren
High's Football programs and the Downey YMCA.  Volunteering is the
backbone of a strong and vibrant city!

I believe in the youth and the seniors of our community.

I am the candidate that has been involved with Downey for many years, not
just because I am running for office.

I consider the growth and preservation of things in our City to be important
and what makes Downey unique.  I want to help Downey prosper and
preserve the historical integrity of our City!

I have owned my own business for over 20 years and have gained many skills
that will contribute to my serving Downey as an effective Council Member.
I believe that I can learn much more by listening to the citizens of Downey and
hearing what their wants and needs are, than by talking.  I will listen to
Downey voters!

I will be a public servant, not a politician!
