CANDIDATE STATEMENT
| Age: 51 Occupation: Self Employed Education: Degree in Administration of Justice Degree in Business Management I have operated a successful business for 20 years, I know how important holding to a budget is to being successful. I have lived in Downey for 33 years. I have no special allegiance, except to you the voter, I am a candidate with no past involvements that would effect my decisions as a Council Member. I believe in term limits! I believe it is important to properly enforce existing laws and city codes. I believe it is important to maintain the integrity of our neighborhoods. I believe in using public funds wisely and selectively. I believe it is important to provide an environment that will encourage new businesses to want to be in Downey. I believe in local control of our Police and Fire Departments. I believe in programs for our seniors and our teens. My Community service is devoted to: Downey Rotary, Downey Rose Float Association, Downey Chamber of Commerce, Downey PTA, Relay for Life, Downey YMCA, Downey Soroptimist, Downey Sister Cities Association, Boy Scouts of America, ARC, Downey Regional Hospital, DARE Drug Free Program, Downey and Warren Football programs, Gangs Out of Downey (GOOD) Please vote for Gary DeRemer on November 4th. |
